VIEW TOWERS
View towers in Czechia, an eagle's eye view
Czechia is a real world power in terms of the number of observation towers. Currently, there are no less than about 400 registered view towers in Czechia.
Most of these view towers were built in the 19th century as more and more people discovered the joys of hiking. However, new, modern lookout towers are still being erected. Their goal is to attract tourists and to offer views of amazing nature scenery. They are very popular day trip destinations among hikers.
Some of the most interesting lookout towers in Czechia include the architectural gem on the Ještěd peak, a faithful copy of the Eiffel Tower on the Petřín peak in Prague, the unique wooden Jurkovič lookout tower in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, the Krásno lookout tower in the Slavkov Forest or the Neo-Gothic Štěpánka lookout tower in the Jizera Mountains.

Walk among giants
Did you ever wonder what the world looks like from the top of the trees? Treetop walks offer an extra dimension to the concept of the view tower. You will become a part of forest life and meet a number of animals and plants that you will not find if you stay on the ground.
Treetop Walkway Lipno was the first walkway of its kind in Czechia in 2012 and is delicately incorporated into the landscape around Lipno lake. The total length of the trail is 675 meters.
The Treetop Trail in Jánské Lázně in the Giant Mountains has a total length of 1511 metres and will take its visitors to both the very crowns of the trees as well as their roots. The ones who do not wish to walk the trail back down they can use a 80-meter-long toboggan from the tower.
The trail in the clouds is a lookout structure built of wood and steel, which is located above the village of Dolní Morava. A wooden path with a total length of 710 meters leads to the top of the building at a height of 55 meters above ground level and thus far above the tree tops. A 100-meter-long water slide with windows, made of stainless steel, can be used downwards.
Needless to say that all these treetop walks are ideal for families with children.
